As our portfolio continues to grow, so do our Corporate Teams! Mark-Taylor is hiring a Director of Facilities & Renovation Management to join our operational leadership team.

The Director of Facilities and Renovation Management is responsible for overseeing and managing all maintenance with extensive experience in managing construction and renovation projects using advanced construction management platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project planning, execution, and completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position ensures the highest standards of property maintenance, operational efficiency, and resident satisfaction, while driving initiatives for continuous improvement and sustainability. This role requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in property management, strong technical skills in maintenance and renovation operations, and excellent team management capabilities to ensure the highest standards of property upkeep and resident satisfaction.

We're Excited to Meet You! Ideally, You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Property Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) or similar credentials is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in property management or maintenance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in multifamily renovation and construction management with extensive experience in managing large-scale multifamily projects, leadership skills, and a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations specific to multifamily projects.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, PlanGrid) and other relevant tools.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, building systems, renovation processes, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and optimize operational costs.
  • Proficiency in maintenance and construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.

You're Excited About This Role Because the Job Duties Include:

Multifamily Renovation and Construction Management:

  • Oversee and manage multifamily renovation and construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Develop processes and strategies to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall outcomes of managing renovation and construction projects which includes optimizing various aspects of project management to achieve better results, reduce costs, and improve timelines.
  • Knowledge, experience and proficiency in project management platforms (Procore, Buildertrend and PlanGrid) to effectively manage projects and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Maintenance Operations Management:

  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures and protocols for efficient and effective property operations.
  • Oversee and coordinate all routine and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and support staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the maintenance department's budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Oversee procurement and inventory management for maintenance supplies and equipment.

Vendor and Contractor Coordination:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and contractors.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure high-quality and cost-effective services.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Property Inspections and Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain property aesthetics and functionality.
  • Address and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.

Resident Satisfaction:

  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of resident maintenance requests and issues.
  • Implement strategies to enhance resident satisfaction and retention.
  • Gather and analyze resident feedback to continuously improve service delivery.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct safety training and drills for the maintenance team.

Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in maintenance technology.
  • Implement innovative solutions to improve maintenance efficiency and property value.
  • Evaluate and recommend new maintenance tools and technologies.

Renovation and Capital Projects:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee renovation and capital improvement projects across the properties.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Manage and monitor renovation projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to residents during renovation activities and communicate project updates effectively.

The salary for the Director of Facilities & Renovation Management is $125,000 per year commensurate with experience.
