As the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition & Management, you will work out of our Corporate Office located in the McCormick Ranch neighborhood of Scottdale, Arizona. This position is a key strategic leader overseeing the payroll operations of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This role includes managing audit functions, overseeing the administration of the company's 401(k) plan, and handling HRIS (Human Resources Information System) functions and integrations. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team under tight deadlines are essential for this position.
You're Excited About This Role Because You Will:
- Leadership: Oversight of all Mark-Taylor payroll and HRIS systems. Manages the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees for corporate as well as multiple properties.
- Supervision: Train, mentor, and evaluate payroll staff to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Compliance: Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to payroll, including tax filings and labor laws.
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordination: Collaborate with Human Resources, Accounting, and other departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Financial: Reviews and approves payroll journal entries and submits to Accounting team for recording into financials for multiple entities. This includes all financial general ledger mapping and integrations.
- Reporting: Prepare and present payroll reports to senior management, finance department, clients, and auditors.
- Cash Management: Oversees payroll journal entries for cash management purposes across multiple entities to ensure sufficient funds are available for all payroll disbursements and tax filings.
- Auditing: Conducts regular audits of payroll data to detect and correct errors, ensuring data integrity.
- Budget Management: Manage payroll and HRIS budget, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Billing: Oversees the billing process for payroll and employee benefits, ensuring accuracy for timely payments.
- Tax Handling: Oversee all tax-related matters of payroll, including deductions, adjustments, and year-end statements.
- 401(k) Administration: Oversees the administration of the company’s 401(k) plan, ensuring accurate contributions, compliance with regulations, and effective communication with employees.
- HRIS Functions: Improve, manage and maintain the HRIS and application integrations to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee data, streamline payroll processes, and generate reports as needed.
- Employee Queries: Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding wages, deductions, attendance, time records, and 401(k) contributions.
We're Excited to Meet You! Ideally, You Will Bring:
- Experience: 5+ years payroll leadership such as a Director, Senior Payroll Manager, or similar role.
- Skills: Strong leadership and managerial skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in payroll software (i.e. Paylocity, ADP, Paychex) and HRIS systems.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, labor legislation, tax regulations, 401(k) plan administration, HRIS management, cash management, and benefits.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is preferred.
